Osobliwością osiedla Legionów w Tarnowie są… jeże, sympatyczne zwierzaki, które obrały sobie od lat za siedzibę min. krzaki, krzewy i trawniki na tym osiedlu. Choć bywają tu nękane przez psy, niewiele z tego sobie robią, ich jedyną obroną w razie ataku jest skulenie się w kulkę i przeczekanie niebezpieczeństwa.
A i psom nie w smak atakowanie najeżonej kolcami kulki.Pewnie stąd bierze się porzekadło: „ dobiera się jak pies do jeża”… Otwierają ponownie swoje ryjki i wyruszają na zwiedzanie okolic, kiedy czują że niebezpieczeństwo na dobre minęło. I tak jest tu od lat. Łasice, kuny domowe i właśnie jeże to szczególnego rodzaju ozdoba tego blokowiska.
Ale bywa i tak, że niebezpieczeństwo pojawia się nagle i niespodziewanie. Tak było w przypadku tego nieszczęśnika który zginął na miejscu, pod kołami samochodu, kiedy nocą wybrał się na polowanie na asfaltową jezdnię. Nagrzany asfalt przyciąga tu owady,o czym jeże doskonale wiedza i wybierają takie miejsca na łowy,bardzo łatwe, bo nie trzeba specjalnych poszukiwań zdobyczy wśród traw czy krzewów. Ale kiedy najedzie samochód, jeż jest bez szans, choć biega dość sprawnie .Nie zdąży uciec ,i tak stało się w tym przypadku, w pobliżu sklepu osiedlowego”Smart”.
Robiłem to zdjęcie martwego jeżyka w sobotę, 4 lipca. Jeż leżał tu martwy już od kilku dni. Dosłownie oblepiały go muchy i dobierały się do truchła miejscowe szczury. Nie było komu uprzątnąć nieszczęśnika…
A swoją droga może warto by umieścić tu znak „uwaga, jeże”. Może te sympatyczne stworzenia unikałyby tragedii, gdyby kierowcy zwalniali wieczorem czy nocą, kiedy jeże polują?
